The Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence (WCPE) is proud to be guided by board members who bring deep expertise and passion for helping organizations grow and thrive. This month, we’re spotlighting Dr. Meridith Wentz, Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Quality at the University of Wisconsin–Stout.
In her role at UW–Stout, Dr. Wentz leads a wide-ranging portfolio that includes financial aid, first-year advising, admissions, registration and records, and institutional planning, assessment, research, and quality. Her work ensures that data-informed decision-making and strategic alignment remain central to student success and operational excellence.
Dr. Wentz is also a master examiner and former judge for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, a judge for the Communities of Excellence program, and a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission. Her decades of commitment to Baldrige principles—both in higher education and across sectors—make her a vital asset to the WCPE board.
“I’ve seen the way that Baldrige can transform organizations,” Dr. Wentz shares. “And I’ve learned countless strategies, from within and outside of higher education, that I continue to apply in my own organization.”
Through WCPE, Dr. Wentz is eager to pay that experience forward:
“I really believe in the mission to help organizations get better at getting better. I hope to help facilitate that wherever I can.”
When she’s not leading change or shaping systems, Dr. Wentz enjoys running and spending time with her two rescue dogs—recharging through movement and the companionship of her pets.
